"The path of Goddess"
India tour Diwali
November (Varanasi)
Welcome,
Join us for a 9-day trip to one of the oldest cities in the Indian subcontinent. Varanasi (Benares) is located by the river Ganges, occupies a central place in the Hindu world pilgrimage tradition. The ghats in Varanasi are steps on the banks of the river, they are associated with imysterious legends and mythologies. Many yogis, ascetics, and masters, including Buddha lived and taught here. For many centuries prayers are chanted and bodies are burned in that sacred city (it is famous for it’s cremation ghats). Death in Benares means “moksha” (liberation). Morning boat ride on the Ganges is a popular visitors attraction. Our guide will lead you through the city, to the rituals of daily life and sacred & misterious hidden places.
However, spirituality is not the only thing that makes Banaras. The popular cuisine of Varanasi is something that most tourists fall in love with. Let us take you to the place where you can dive deep into the delicious flavors of India’s and its colorful diverse culture.
Why this journey to Varanasi in November?
In November there is a celebration of the Dev Deepavali (“the Diwali of the Gods” or “Festival of Lights of the Gods”. Festival is owing to the significance and the growing socio-cultural popularity. It is celebrated in the city of Varanasi in region of Uttar Pradesh, India. The steps of all the ghats on the riverfront of the Ganges River, from Ravidas Ghat at the southern end to Rajghat, are lit with more than a million earthen lamps (diyas) in honour of Ganga, the Ganges river, and its presiding goddess. Mythologically, the gods are believed to descend to Earth to bathe in the Ganges on this day.
During Dev Deepawali, houses are decorated with oil lamps and coloured designs on their front doors. Firecrackers are burnt at night, processions of decorated deities are taken out into the streets of Varanasi, and oil lamps are set afloat on the river.
During misterious expeirence of Varanasi we will have 1 days tour, to the village located within near distance from the city. In program we have excursion to Vindyachal, which is a famous Hindu pilgrimage spot. Vindhyachal is home to a wealth of tourist attractions, reflecting its rich past and culture. We will follow steps of the Goddess doing the trikona parikrama which covers three most important temples Vindhyavasini, Ashtabhuja and Kali khoh temples.

The holy town of Vindhyachal is in Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the river Ganga. The spirituality of this location draws people in large numbers as it is well known as a pilgrimage site for the magnificent goddess Vindhyavasini. Since Vindhyachal was first referenced in the ancient and sacred Hindu texts known as the Puranas, it has always been a centre of religious observance and devotion.
HOTEL SURYA
Welcome to one of the best hotels in Varanasi. Hotel Surya was founded in 1982 beginning with just eight guest rooms. At that time, the hotel was surrounded with fields and orchards and was just one of the two hotels in the area. In 2005 renovations began on Kaiser Palace to restore the building to its original beauty. Hotel Surya now offers entertainment spaces, restaurants, a full service spa, bar and café, travel agency, and much more. With everything offered within the hotel, it’s the perfect retreat away from the busyness of the ghats.
We aim to provide the highest level of guest experience, while maintaining a familiar comfort that makes the guest feel like they are at home. The hotel is fully equipped with an ayurvedic spa, a full service restaurant and café, pool, gardens, boutiques, and a lounge for nightlife and entertainment. The entire hotel functions with a focus on impacting the environmental and social surroundings in a positive way.

Many tour members ask about tipping so here are some guidelines. Tipping is a voluntary but common practice in India. Our guides and drivers have a short tourist season and the tips are a big help for them in the offseason. If you are satisfied with their services it is typical to offer some donation accoring to your wish. This amount can be given towards the end of the tour directly to your main guide who will divide the amount to the drivers and any other helpers. Tipping is voluntary and dependent on the inspiration of the tour member.
FOOD PRECAUTIONS
PEat light when you first arrive. Drink and brush your teeth only with bottled water. Never eat street food. Eat only in places that your guide approves. Enjoy the fine authentic vegetarian cuisine.
IMPORTANT! KEEP ON USING SANITAISER FREQUENTLY!
AVOIDING SCAMS AND CHEATERS
India has plenty of saints and plenty of cheaters. Don’t be naïve. If you are in doubt ask your guide’s advice. Keep your valuables safely. Wearing a money belt under your clothes is a good idea.
HEAT STROKE AND HEAT EXHAUSTION
Bring a sun hat, sunglasses, drink sufficient pure water daily (at least 2 liters/daily).
THE REAL INDIA
Please try to read a good guidebook before your journey to prepare yourself for your journey and give you some idea of what to expect. India is a developing country and can be very challenging, raw, chaotic, and overcrowded. Don’t expect things to be like in developed Western countries. Despite that, it is a wonderful and deep place which offers the chance for unique and powerful experiences. We’ve got a great tour planned and if you come with a mood of adventure, some patience and the willingness to accept India on its own terms you’ll have the experience of a lifetime.
If you ever have any questions or need help with any of the steps please don’t hesitate to ask.
